Help Save the Chapel, and a part of horror history, this Valentine's Day!

Eat Your Heart Out Zombie Valentine’s Party




Oakmont Tavern, Oakmont, PA - February 11, 2012 –Come to the Valentine’s Party and express that undying love you have for your lover, in an undead way, and support a great cause. Join Steel City Zombies at the Eat Your Heart Out Zombie Valentine’s Day Party to raise funds to save the Evans City Cemetery Chapel, an iconic filming location in George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. This Pittsburgh area filmed movie was the founding pillar in American zombie pop culture.

Get zombied up and come enjoy the rock melodies of Overland, and party with a fun crowd. The Zombie Valentine’s Party is a great place to meet other people (& zombies) and have a good time. There will be raffles of zombie and chapel related items, shot specials, contests and prizes, and more!

The special event is being held at the Oakmont Tavern, 814 Allegheny River Boulevard, Oakmont, PA 15139, from 8:30pm till close on Saturday, February 11, 2012.

Most door proceeds, as well as shot specials, raffles, etc. will be donated directly to the Fix the Chapel efforts, http://fixthechapel.com/, to save the Evans City Cemetery Chapel.

Our goal is to raise $1,000 during this event, and you can make it happen.

Independent Grindhouse 3 Slashes Its Way to the Hollywood Theater on November 19

Horror film showcase includes short and feature projects from independent filmmakers


Pittsburgh, PA – November 13, 2011 – Bastards of Horror and Horror Realm present their third independent grindhouse program as a midnight screening at the Hollywood Theater in Dormont on November 19, 2011.

The Independent Grindhouse program recognizes and celebrates the work of independent filmmakers in the horror genre.  This year’s event features trailers for upcoming films currently in production, plus short and feature films:

My Undeadly, a zombie short film from Dave Reda and Elftwin Films which was named as an official selection of the 2011 Sacramento Horror Film Festival, Shriekfest and the Hollyshorts Film Festival. 

The Slasher Hunter is a parody of slasher films.  Written and directed by Steve Rudzinski and his Dark Mullet Cinema studio, this short film has the tag line “Five slashers. One Slasher Hunter. They're gonna need more slashers.”

The evening’s feature film is Tonight You Die, the second film from Jim Roberts and Blind Sight Productions.  Roberts is an Electronic Media Production major at Kent State University.  His first film, Welcome to Deer Creek, won first place in the 2009 Horror Realm Film Festival and was recently featured on Barnabus Bailey’s Greatest Show Unearthed, an internet horror host program.  Roberts will be on hand for a question and answer session at the end of the program.

Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased at the door.  Tim Gross and Charlie Fleming of the Bastards of Horror will host the event, which includes prize giveaways.  Gross, author of The Big Ass Book of Gross Movie Reviews, will also be signing copies of the book which will be on sale at the theater.

The Hollywood Theater, located at 1449 Potomac Avenue in Dormont, is the last surviving single screen theater in the South Hills of Pittsburgh.  The theater is operated by Friends of the Hollywood Theater, a non-profit organization.  For more information including theater schedules, please visit http://www.thehollywooddormont.org/.

Zom-B-Rama Charity Carnival Event Returns to Monroeville Mall

"Zombie Carnival Proceeds Benefit “Save the Evans City Cemetery Chapel”


October 11, 2011 – Monroeville, Pa - You can't keep Zombies out of the mall! Back from the dead after a brief hiatus, Monroeville Zombies, a zombie-themed tourist attraction returns to the Monroeville Mall in Monroeville, PA with a Carnival Themed Grand Re-opening. The event named, Zom-B-Rama is an annual zombie Halloween celebration hosted by the mall based attraction. This year's event is scheduled for October 22, and will also coincide with Monroeville Zombies' reopening in a new larger location featuring more activities and exhibits.
