We, at Skull and Bones Entertainment, recently had the
opportunity to experience our second Days of the Dead convention. This time we
went back to where it all began, Indianapolis, Indiana. We began our trip early
Thursday morning to catch our flight out of Orlando to Indianapolis. We haven’t
been that far from Jacksonville, Florida in a very long time so it was a big
deal for us. During the flight all we could think about was meeting people we
grew up admiring like Lamberto Bava, Traci Lords, Dick Miller, and Tom Savini
just to name a few. We couldn’t wait to arrive in Indy and be amongst the
horror crowd and our convention family. Once we arrived at the airport in
Indianapolis, Adolfo was an excellent promoter by having a ride waiting to take
us to the hotel. We always arrive to
Days of the Dead on Thursday to make sure we attend the infamous pre-party. If
you’ve ever been to a Days of the Dead pre-party, you know what we mean. It’s
the perfect way to start an awesome weekend.

Skull and Bones Entertainment reviews David Atkins' Obituary
Obituary Review
Calling
“Obituary” a page-turner is an understatement. To put it into perspective, I
started reading it on a Friday morning, and was finished by Monday morning. As
fast as I read, it still never seemed fast enough. Obituary gets into the suspense
and thrill fairly quick and doesn’t seem to stop until the last page. I found
myself constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next, which for me,
is a sign of an excellent book.
Obituary
tells the story of Jonathan Daniels, a writer living in Pennsylvania with his
wife and children, whose life changes during a freak blizzard in November.
Meanwhile, a copycat serial killer and legend in law enforcement are “lured to
rural Pennsylvania by an evil that’s waited for its revenge for almost three
decades.” This story will have your heart pounding right along with the
characters in it, wondering what will happen next.
David is a
truly talented writer; he is able to grab your attention almost instantaneously
and keeps you hanging on to his every word until the very end. Even then you’re
left thinking, “….wow….” There’s nothing worse than figuring out the ending to
a story before you even reach the middle, with Obituary, this definitely was
not the case. He has certainly found the balance between giving enough detail
to allow you to visualize the scenes and characters he’s created, without
giving so much detail that you end up bored. The characters he’s created in
Obituary are both relatable, and at sometimes downright frightening. One such
character was so creepy; he ended up in one of my dreams after a day of
reading. Creating characters who stick with you is undoubtedly one of David’s
talents. There were never any dull moments in the book, and just when you
thought you might know what’s going on something else happened leaving you
wondering how exactly this story was going to end. Once you reach the end, you
will not be disappointed, trust me.
Overall, I truly enjoyed Obituary, and highly recommend it. I
can be a somewhat picky reader, but David truly impressed me from the first
page right on through to the last one. It’s refreshing to know there are still
original and talented writers coming up in the horror genre, and I look forward
to reading the next book David writes, I’m sure it will be just as good, if not
better.

Skull and Bones Entertainment to interview Danny Trejo
Skull and Bones Entertainment to interview Danny Trejo in July
Dan "Danny" Trejo is an American actor who has appeared in numerous Hollywood films, most notably in "tough guy" roles as a villain or an anti-hero.
Dan Trejo was born in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, rejo is the son of Alice Rivera and Dan Trejo, a construction worker. He is a second cousin of filmmaker Robert Rodriguez, though the two were unaware that they were related until the filming of Desperado.
While speaking at a recovery meeting in Los Angeles, Trejo met a young man in the movie business. His newfound friend invited him to the set of Runaway Train where Trejo was offered a job as an extra in the film's prison scenes. Edward Bunker, himself a former convict and well-respected crime author who was writing the screenplay for the film, recognized Trejo, with whom he had done time at San Quentin. It was widely misreported that Trejo was actually serving time in the prison where filming took place. Bunker remembered Trejo's boxing skills, and offered him $320 per day to train Eric Roberts, one of the movie's stars, for a boxing scene. Director Andrei Konchalovsky liked Trejo's work and decided to offer him a prominent role in the film.Since then, Trejo has become a prolific actor in both films and television, acting alongside some of Hollywood's most famous actors, including Jean-Claude Van Damme, Johnny Depp, Al Pacino, Nicolas Cage, Charles Bronson, George Clooney, John Malkovich, Robert De Niro, Harrison Ford, Val Kilmer, and Antonio Banderas. Trejo has often appeared in five or more movies per year in various genres. Major releases in which he has acted include Machete, Blood in Blood Out, Animal Factory, Bubble Boy, Anaconda, Marked for Death, xXx, Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Heat, From Dusk till Dawn, Con Air, Six Days Seven Nights, Spy Kids, The Replacement Killers, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Predators, Urban Justice, The Devil's Rejects, Valley of Angels, Delta Farce, Grindhouse, Rob Zombie's Halloween and Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror.

Skull and Bones Invades May-Hem
Skull and Bones Entertainment was able to make a last minute trip down to Spooky Empire’s May-Hem in Orlando last weekend, thanks to our good friend Melissa Benjamin, Food and Beverage Director at Wyndham Worldwide. I (Ashley) was eager to see John Astin, Oliver Robbins, and Joey Lauren Adams just to name a few, Mark was looking forward to meeting Linda Hamilton, and Vivica Fox, and we both were very excited to finally get to meet Caroline Williams. We were also looking forward to attending May-Hem as we were not able to make it last year, and it would be our first time. We knew to expect a smaller show than in October, but other than that we weren’t sure what we’d encounter.

Days of the Dead Atlanta Review
Skull and Bones Entertainment invades Days of the Dead Atlanta!
We arrived to Days of the Dead Atlanta Thursday evening and immediately went to the pre-party at Jekyll and Hyde’s. While there, we watched Goddamn Zombie as well as First Jason. There were quite a few other convention attendees, and everyone was able to drink, eat, mingle and have a great time before the REAL fun started on Friday.
Friday morning we woke up and walked around the hotel lobby, where it wasn’t unusual to see a celebrity grabbing a cup of coffee or checking in. Conventions are great for fans because it’s probably the only opportunity you get to casually occupy the same space as the people you admire from the movies you love. Once the doors opened we immediately went to the celebrity signing areas to do a walk through and talk to those celebs we’ve become acquainted with and meet those who we hadn’t before. We also wandered through the vendor room, immediately seeing things that made us say “I want that!” There was no shortage of awesome stuff in the vendor room that’s for sure!
