Warehouse 31 Review

Warehouse 31...Jacksonville's Scariest Haunted House?

Perfect setting for a haunted house
We arrived at Warehouse 31 right at dusk, what we heard was true, the warehouse was one of a few out in the middle of nowhere, a perfect setting for a haunted house. Parking is adjacent to Warehouse 31 and is free Monday through Thursday nights and $3 per car on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. There was no line to get in, which was very convenient. Warehouse 31 occasionally runs promotions discounting their ticket prices, on this night we received $3 off each ticket for bringing an empty Monster Energy Drink can. They offer a variety of ticket options and prices, which can be found by visiting their website at http://www.warehouse31.com/. We chose the Triple Terror Ticket which was a great deal at $25 per ticket granting access to all 3 trails.
The ticket line not crowded at all

Sister Mary Lost Her Cherry
Once we were in, we went to the drink area where we encountered a lovely bartender by the name of Sister Mary Lost Her Cherry. The drink prices weren't bad and the bar was decorated festively. The smell of cinnamon in the air from something sweet was almost irresistible. We waited in line for maybe 15 minutes max for the first house to open. While in line they kept you entertained with fire spinners, as well giant costumed monsters on stilts, which made it an enjoyable experience. Around 8:00PM they began to let people into the houses. It's set up so that you basically go from one house right into the next which was convenient as well.

Fire Spinner entertaining waiting guests
The first house we entered was Eternal Abyss, the description said it would be a puzzle that you must try to find your way out of while in complete darkness, not knowing what might sneak up on you. To be honest this house was the most disappointing, it was very dark that is true. However, there was maybe a total of three scares in the entire house, the rest of the time was spent stumbling through the dark trying to find your way out. That may be scary for some, but I think avid horror fans such as ourselves may consider it weak. There isn't much to say about this house because there really wasn't much to it. We felt it could have been given more effort and definitely more scares.

Entrance to the 3D Clown Nightmare
The next house we entered was the 3D Clown Nightmare, where a troupe of clowns has escaped a nightmare and entered Warehouse 31. This house was definitely an improvement from the previous one we entered. We were all given 3D glasses before entering, and the 3D factor made it unique. This house has way more scares than Eternal Abyss, and the 3D paint everywhere was very eye catching, which helped with the clowns being able to catch you off guard. The length of this house was also seemingly a bit longer than the previous, which was nice. Overall, this house was enjoyable and we have no complaints.

The final house was actually a trail, Rigamortis, the haunted trail. This was by far the best of all three houses, we were very impressed with the length, the scares, and also the house itself. When entering Rigamortis, you make your way through 30 scenes, rooms and mazes. We experienced everything from an angry man yelling at us to "GET OFF MY LAWN" to a kitchen area where the ingredients were human, and the butcher followed you a little too close for comfort. One of the final rooms and also one our favorites, a swamp type area, where lasers made it look and feel as though you were wading through the swamp, with a dinosaur in your way! This was the longest haunted house/trail we have ever encountered, there was clearly a lot of work put into and it showed. It was full of scares throughout the entire trail, ensuring there was a never a dull moment. The rooms were decorated wonderfully adding to the creepy feel of the night. This trail gets 5 stars from us, and it alone was worth the trip.

King Rot wants YOU to sit on his throne!

Overall, we had a great time at Warehouse 31. We never encountered a long wait, and we enjoyed the houses. Now, whether it really is "the scariest haunted house in Jacksonville" we can't say for sure. We will be going to a few more and only then can we say. But even if it was only Rigamortis, it'd be worth the money as this trail was definitely the best and we highly suggest you check it out!
